I had the joy of meeting Carolyn and Dylan not once, but twice for their engagement session. The first time around sadly got rained out; therefore, we were unable to capture any photos. Typically, I would move forward despite the rain and use clear umbrellas, but with the high winds, thunder, and lighting we opted for another day.

Take two. The second time around worked out much better! The weather was perfect and sunny. I met Carolyn and Dylan at Shenandoah University for their session. Shenandoah is a special place for them. Not only is this where they both attended college, but this is also where they originally met.

I enjoyed walking around the campus with them, hearing stories of their time together, and how Dylan proposed. Come to find out, Dylan enjoys photography as a hobby. He especially enjoys experimenting with night photography.

One night, Dylan decided it would be fun to take Carolyn out to play with sparklers and take photos. He set the camera up and asked Carolyn to snap the photo. As he drew in the night sky with the sparkler, she wondered what he was writing. After the camera shutter released, she saw the words “Will you marry me?” on the screen. Of course she said yes!

So excited to celebrate with these two lovebirds in a few short months!
