It was a cloudy, yet beautiful evening for Karys and Blaine’s Washington DC engagement session. The storms were rolling in, but we managed to fit in their session just in time. With the clouds and the storms rolling in, this meant less crowds!
As much as I love a sunny session, the cloudy ones can be equally as beautiful with the soft light and romantic feel. The architecture added the perfect touch to their Washington DC engagement session. Not to mention the fountain at the World War II Memorial was the perfect addition.
As we walked around the monuments, I enjoyed hearing all about Karys and Blaine’s wedding plans, how they met and the proposal.
Their love story began in high school and continued through their college years. Fast forward to the fall of 2020, Blaine decided it was time to ask Karys to marry him. They spent a romantic weekend together at Salamander Resort. On their way to dinner one evening, Blaine tucked the ring inside his blazer. Little did Karys know, she was about to be asked the question she’d been dreaming of.
Just before dinner, Blaine got down on one knee and asked Karys to marry him. Of course her answer was “Yes!!”. Blaine had everything planned perfectly, including hiring a photographer to capture the moment and their family close by to celebrate with them! It was an evening they will never forget.
Now here they are, planning the wedding of their dreams! I so enjoyed listening to all of their plans from how they chose their venue to their choice of colors and flowers. I simply can not wait to celebrate with them and capture their special day at the beautiful Stone Tower Winery in Leesburg, Virginia. After meeting these two, I just know their wedding day is going to be nothing short of amazing!
