The cherry blossoms in DC decided to make their appearance a little early this year. Thankfully, I was able to schedule time to meet with Hannah and Jeff for their engagement session among the beautiful blooms.
It was a rainy week, leading us to reschedule and landing on the prettiest, sunny day. Along with that, came the crowds of people that everyone knows the cherry blossoms bring. We arrived at sunrise to try to avoid as much of the crowds as possible. Whenever I do a session in DC, I like to suggest sunrise for this reason – avoid the crowds and the beautiful light is such a huge added bonus!
Unfortunately, it felt as if the rest of the world had the same idea we had and decided to come super early on this particular day! That’s okay though, we didn’t let it stop us. We started at the Jefferson Memorial and walked around the Tidal Basin. We found the perfect spots for some photos and avoided people as much as possible. That’s one of the perks of hiring a professional photographer – we know how to work around it all!
As we walked around the Tidal Basin, I enjoyed getting to know Hannah and Jeff a little more. They originally met at Virginia Tech 9 years ago! Fast forward and these college sweethearts are about to walk down the aisle to say their “I Do’s”.
Jeff proposed to Hannah in February 2022, while they were visiting San Diego. They went to a beautiful beach at sunset, where Jeff popped the question. It was such a special moment and they even have photos to help treasure their memory of the day. Jeff’s sister surprised them with a photographer! I love when a photographer is included in the proposal. It’s such a sweet moment and who doesn’t want it captured forever!
I simply can not wait to celebrate Hannah and Jeff at The Oak Barn at Loyalty! And of course capture their special day – just look at these two, they are precious!
I absolutely loved Hannah’s gorgeous dresses from Lulu’s!
