I was so excited to meet Kim and Matthew at one of my favorite locations – the State Arboretum of Virginia. You can definitely never go wrong with this location. There are endless possibilities for portraits!

I immediately hit it off with Kim and Matthew. They are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. We had so much fun talking about how they met and all their wedding plans. There is no doubt about it, these two are beyond excited to get married!

I say it all the time and I’ll say it again – golden hour is my favorite time for photos! Just look at that light, y’all! It is gorgeous. So if you’re ever wondering why I push for evening portraits, let this post be a sample of why! You simply can not get this kind of light during the day. Yes, you can still get beautiful portraits, but there is just something about that light just before sunset. Perfection.

Throughout their entire session, we enjoyed so many laughs together. Matthew was one of the first to ever ask me if I could include a few bloopers in their gallery. Don’t ever be afraid to ask because I’m not afraid to share! I love it when my couples have fun and can laugh together – even at their goofy faces.

I can’t wait to celebrate with Kim and Matthew at Green Grove Gardens. I know it is going to be an amazing day!
