Where do I even begin with Laurel and Ryan’s gorgeous engagement session! Not only was I beyond excited to finally meet them in person after communicating over FaceTime, phone, and e-mail, but they blew me away with their choice of location and outfits. Laurel and I had been texting prior to their session about outfits and when she sent me photos of the dresses she was bringing, I was seriously doing a happy dance in my kitchen.
Historic Rockland holds a special place in their hearts as it has been in Laurel’s family for many years. Since meeting, Laurel and Ryan have spent a lot of time together at the farm so it was only fitting that they have their engagement session there.
Before I go any further in telling you about their engagement session, let me tell you how Ryan proposed to Laurel. Living in New York City, the options for the perfect proposal are obviously endless. After receiving Laurel’s father’s blessing to ask for her hand in marriage, Ryan decided to propose in the Grand Central Station Whisper Gallery. A little background for you in case you don’t know what a whisper gallery is, you can stand at one corner, whisper, and it will only be heard at the opposite corner amidst all the noise. (Grand Central Terminal)
Standing at one corner, while Laurel was at the other, Ryan whispered “Will you marry me?”. To which, of course, Laurel replied yes! Talk about a sweet proposal!
Laurel and Ryan traveled to Leesburg, Virginia for their engagement session and a weekend of wedding planning. We were hoping for no rain and thankfully, we missed it, but just barely. After a torrential downpour, the weather cleared and turned into the perfect evening! I had SO much fun getting to know these two, hearing all about their plans for their big day, and cracking all the “corny” jokes (Notice the cornfield in the photos – now you can laugh too). They are such a beautiful couple! Their wedding day is going to be one for the books and I seriously can. Not. Wait!!
I could not be happier for them or more excited to capture their wedding day at the beautiful Oak Barn at Loyalty in June 2021!
Until then, keep scrolling to see all the pretty from Laurel and Ryan’s engagement session! Don’t stop until the end if you want to see their fun ending! A little trampoline jumping and Photoshop magic to say “Bye, bye” to the trampoline 😉
