Autumn and Daniel’s Harper Ferry, West Virginia engagement session is one that I will never forget! Not only was it beautiful, it was also a little extra special because I have known Autumn since we were in church youth group together.
Autumn text me in April asking if I was available October 30th. I had no idea why she was asking (I don’t use social media for personal use, I know, I’m lame), but told her that I was. She came back with a reply that she had just gotten engaged and needed a wedding photographer for her wedding day! My jaw dropped, I fell off my chair and picked myself off the floor to text her back immediately. Okay, a little dramatic, but you get the point. I was beyond excited for her and thrilled that she wanted me to photograph one of the most special days in her and Daniel’s lives!
God works in such amazing ways. He brought Autumn and Daniel together at a time when they both least expected it. Autumn gave Daniel some delicious cookies that she baked and the rest is history. The way to a man’s heart truly is through his stomach apparently 😉
On Easter weekend, Daniel took Autumn for a hike overlooking Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. It was at the top of Maryland Heights, with the breathtaking view behind them that Daniel got down on one knee and asked Autumn to be his wife. Of course she said yes and the other hikers around them cheered!
There was no question that their engagement session had to take place in Harpers Ferry. We didn’t make the hike up Maryland Heights, but we enjoyed strolling through downtown and up to Jefferson Rock. It was a cloudy, but beautiful day. We had the whole place practically to ourselves. We enjoyed every minute of catching up, hearing their love story, and plans for their wedding day.
I can’t wait to capture Autumn and Daniel’s wedding day at Boydville, The Inn at Martinsburg!
