This past weekend I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Amy and Jeff at the beautiful Barn at Willow Brook for their engagement session. These two were just as sweet in person as they were the first time I talked to them on the phone. I always love being able to finally meet my couples in person for the first time. This is one of the many reasons why I enjoy offering a complimentary engagement session with my wedding collections. It gives us the opportunity to get to know each other and become comfortable with posing.
We could not have asked for a more beautiful evening for Amy and Jeff’s session. It was warm and sunny with crystal blue skies. Since I have not been photographing anyone besides my own family lately (bless their hearts – I know they’re sick of my camera!), I warned them that I could easily keep them there until dark. I didn’t keep them there *quite* that long, but it was tempting. The light was GORGEOUS, y’all! If you know me, you know I love that beautiful golden light.
Amy and Jeff mentioned that they had never had professional photos done before. I never would have guessed it! They were naturals! Seriously, snuggles were on point, giggles adorable, and love shining through their eyes the whole evening.
Did I mention that their dating anniversary was also this weekend? What a perfect way to celebrate! I typically encourage my couples to enjoy a nice dinner out after our session, but with things being a little different at the moment, a quiet evening at home with takeout was in the works for these two. If you ask me, I think that sounds like a pretty great way to end the evening together!
Now, it wouldn’t be an engagement blog post without sharing how he proposed, would it?
With Jeff being in the Navy, he was stationed in Hawaii for a time. One early morning he got Amy up to go for a sunrise hike. Hawaii and sunrise – talk about amazing! They hiked to the perfect location for the best view of the sunrise. As they were watching the sunrise, Jeff got down on one knee and asked Amy to be his wife. Of course, Amy said yes!
Here they are now, planning their special day and looking forward to forever together as husband and wife. Let the countdown to June 19, 2021 begin!
