After rescheduling Emily and Alex’s Old Town Alexandria engagement session due to COVID-19 restrictions, we were finally able to make it happen! I first spoke with Emily and Alex in November of last year so meeting them in person had been long anticipated.
The rain cleared out just in time for their engagement session. We spent the evening exploring the beautiful, historic streets and ending on the always pretty waterfront. The sun peaked through the clouds just perfectly and left us with such a lovely glow. If you know me, then you know how much I love that golden hour glow!
Let me rewind for a minute and tell you a little about Alex’s proposal. Emily and Alex both enjoy exploring the beautiful area of Northern Virginia – from the historic streets to the rolling hills of the countryside. It is no question that Alex chose the perfect location to propose. He took Emily to beautiful Pippin Hill Winery. They enjoyed a quiet afternoon, just the two of them. While walking through the quiet vineyards, Alex asked Emily to marry him. Emily was completely surprised, but said yes without a doubt!
I loved every minute of getting to know Emily and Alex during their engagement session. From talking about where they grew up to the details about their wedding day and even sharing some fun family stories – every part was so much fun. They say they’ve never had professional photos before, but you can have fooled me! They are so calm and natural in front of the camera.
It is so obvious just how much Emily and Alex love each other simply by watching them together. I could not be happier for them! I know their wedding day is going to be so special and so beautiful! I am beyond excited to celebrate with them at the gorgeous Whitehall Estate in just a little over a month!
